Fabrizio Romano delivers update on PSG’s rumoured interest in Hugo Lloris

Mauricio Pochettino’s appointment as the new head coach of Paris Saint-Germain has seen reports in the media link Hugo Lloris with a potential reunion with his former boss.

The Sun claimed earlier this month that the North Londoners were bracing themselves for an approach from the French giants with Pochettino keen to land the Spurs skipper in the summer.

Lloris is out of contract in June 2021 (transfermarkt) with Football Insider claiming that he has already rejected Tottenham’s early attempts to get him to commit his future to the club.

Italian football expert Fabrizio Romano has played down the speculation in an interview with The Last Word on Spurs podcast (14/1 – 13:33) by insisting that there is no current interest in Lloris by PSG who are happy with the performances of Keylor Navas.

Romano believes that PSG’s plan is to instead move for a younger goalkeeper with Spurs hoping to negotiate with Lloris over the coming weeks and months to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Lloris has played 347 matches in all competitions for Spurs (transfermarkt) since making the move from Lyon in a £7milion deal in 2012.
