Steven Bergwijn will have ‘serious chances’ to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Dutch international is reported to be attracting interest from Dutch giants Ajax, with Romano claiming there are also other clubs who are also keen on the winger.
Bergwijn admitted in an interview with AD earlier this month that a return to his homeland could be an option this summer, ahead of the Netherlands’ involvement in the World Cup which takes place later this year.
The former PSV Eindhoven winger, who moved to north London for £27 million in January 2020 (BBC) missed out on a place in their final squad for Euro 2020 last summer and will be looking for regular first team action ahead of the tournament in Qatar.
It sounds like the Spurs man could potentially have multiple options open to him this summer, with Romano stating that ‘many clubs’ are interested in him despite his struggles to earn minutes under Conte.
There are serious chances for Steven Bergwijn to leave Tottenham in the summer, as Perisić is joining the club too. The plan is still the same. ⚪️ #THFC

Bergwijn is unlucky to find himself behind a host of attacking talent at Tottenham including Heung-min Son, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura. The expected arrival of Ivan Perisic would further hamper his opportunities of appearing on the left flank.
