Fabrizio Romano reveals Conte’s stance after Spurs tried to find solution

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to reveal that Antonio Conte has not changed his mind about the head coach vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur.

Romano has claimed that Spurs were attempting to find a solution to reach an agreement with the former Inter Milan boss on Friday afternoon but were unable to do so.

Tottenham’s expected appointing of Fabio Paratici as the club’s new sporting director was also not enough to persuade Conte to take the job.

Paratici, who left Juventus last month and worked with Conte between 2011 and 2014 at the Old Lady.

Sky Sports claimed on Friday evening that it was Tottenham who decided to shelve plans to appoint the 51-year-old after they had concerns over Conte’s perceived reluctance to work with some of the younger talent within the squad.

Conte was also said to have been left unconvinced that the North Londoners were a team ready to win trophies immediately.
