Fabrizio Romano claims Daniel Levy is ‘in love’ with one Tottenham star

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the entire Tottenham hierarchy, including Daniel Levy, Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte, absolutely adore Son Heung-min.

Son was a relatively unknown product when he arrived at Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 for a fee of £22m.

The South Korean struggled to have much of an impact in his first season at White Hart Lane. He came close to leaving the subsequent summer and had to be talked out of it by former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino (Sky Sports).

However, since then, the forward has improved each season and has now established himself as one of the most potent attackers in the Premier League.

Son created history last season when he became the first Asian player to win the Premier League Golden Boot, and after a lacklustre start to the new season, he has now once again seemingly found his goalscoring boots.

Romano has now explained why Son has never come close to leaving Tottenham, revealing that the Spurs star loves the club.

The journalist said on the Que Golazo Podcast: “No, honestly with Son he was never close to leaving this summer and for one reason.

“Daniel Levy is in love with him, Conte is in love with him and Fabio Paratici is in love with him and he loves Tottenham, he loves the club, he loves the city, he loves the team, and so Son is not desperate to leave and Tottenham are super happy with him.”

Son is a manager’s dream in many ways, given his attitude and fitness. Even when he was struggling until the Leicester game, it was evident from the way Conte spoke about him that the South Korean had the full backing of everyone at Spurs.

Now that the 30-year-old has found his goalscoring boots, you can put your money on him to have a purple patch and bang goals in with regularity over the next ten games or so.
