Fabrizio Romano claims it’s only a matter of time before Spurs star signs long-term deal

Tottenham Hotspur are progressing well with their negotiations over a new contract with Heung-min Son, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano revealed during an appearance on The Last Word on Spurs podcast (14/1 – 10:03) that the South Korean has recently changed his agent representation to CAA Base, who he claims have an amazing relationship with the Tottenham board and also represent Dele Alli and Danny Rose (transfermarkt).

Romano claimed that while Son, who is under contract in North London until 2023 is yet to put pen to paper on his contract extension, he is very close to doing so.

The South Korean is said to be very happy in North London with Jose Mourinho also pleased with the performance of Son.

The 28-year-old has scored 16 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season and came close to adding to his tally on Wednesday evening only to see his effort come back off the Fulham post (transfermarkt).

Romano claimed that while the current lockdown has not helped matters, the club are finalising the finer details on whether it will be a five or six-year contract along with any respective bonuses should Spurs win silverware during the new deal.
