Fabrizio Romano claims Man City make ‘official bid’ for Kane, names three potential makeweights

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has named three Manchester City players that would be among those who would be discussed as a potential makeweight for Harry Kane.

Romano claimed that Manchester City have made their first official bid to Tottenham in their attempt to land Harry Kane and have offered £100million along with the potential for at least one player to be added to the deal.

It is claimed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of allowing Kane, who still has three years on his contract left to run despite the forward wanting to play in the Champions League.

Levy is said to be still trying to convince the 27-year-old that he should remain in North London, however, Kane is fully focused on his efforts with England at Euro 2020.

Romano has claimed that Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Aymeric Laporte are among the City players who could be used as part of the bargaining to prise Kane away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He said within a caption on his latest Instagram post: “Manchester City made a first official bid to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer

“Manchester City offered £100m guaranteed to Tottenham, also adding availability to include at least one player in the deal.

“Raheem Sterling, Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus would be among the potential players to be discussed as part of the negotiations. 🗣

“Tottenham have NO intention to accept this proposal from Man City as Daniel Levy wants to keep Harry Kane, still trying to convince him.

“Harry Kane wants to play Champions League football next season and he wants to leave, but now he’s focused on #Euro2020 and no decision will be made during the competition. Tottenham will fight again and again to keep him.

“Manchester City are not giving up as of today, he’s the main target and Pep Guardiola would love to work with Kane as new top player and striker after losing Sergio Agüero.”

Tottenham would have to sign at least two players to replace Kane’s goal and assist contribution to the team and even then, there’s no guarantees they would be able to get close to the numbers he achieved last season.

Kane is priceless to Tottenham, Daniel Levy instead needs to prove to Kane that he is serious about restoring the club as a genuine threat to competing for trophies and back whoever comes in as head coach accordingly.
