Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs and Arsenal could battle it out for right-back

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham and Arsenal are both eyeing Max Aarons ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs might be in need of reinforcements at right-back with reports indicating that Serge Aurier is close to sealing a return to Paris Saint-Germain.

There are also question marks over Matt Doherty’s future at Spurs, with the former Wolves man enduring a difficult first season in North London.

Some sources have indicated that Aarons is one of the options on Tottenham’s radar.

The Canaries star, who impressed in his first taste of top-flight football last season has further grown his reputation this season, playing a big part in Daniel Farke’s side marching to the Championship title.

Everton have also been credited with an interest in the England Under-21 international.

Romano has now revealed that the two North London rivals might go head-to-head for Aarons’ signature this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Aarons would be my number one choice among the right-backs that we can realistically attract this summer. However, the Canaries star is likely to be more expensive than the likes of Emerson Royal. Hopefully, the sales of Aurier and Doherty could help us make up a significant portion of Aarons’ asking price.
