Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs are about to make first bid for 25-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur are set to step up their interest in Everton forward Richarlison, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer expert claimed on the Que Golazo podcast (09:00) that Tottenham’s interest in the Brazilian is serious and they are set to make their first official approach with a bid to try and prise the striker away from Goodison Park.

The 25-year-old is also attracting interest from Chelsea, who are said to be weighing up whether to enter the race for the Toffees player while also having targeted Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele (Sky Sports).

Football Insider reported yesterday that Richarlison has told those close to him that he is keen to make the move to north London and play in the Champions League next season.

Everton are said to want over £50million for Richarlison (Daily Mail), who has scored 53 goals in 152 appearances in all competitions for the Merseysiders since joining from Watford (transfermarkt).

With Steven Begwijn edging closer to a move back to Ajax, which is expected to be announced on or after July 1st, it makes sense that Spurs are now pushing forward with an official bid for Richarlison and are expected to want to get a replacement in before allowing the Dutchman to depart.
