Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs are finalising ‘last details’ for Italian to join

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur and Fabio Paratici are finalising the final details for the Italian to become the club’s new sporting director.

Romano insisted that any agreement for Paratici does not rest on whether Antonio Conte will take up the head coach position in North London.

Paratici held a farewell press conference at Juventus today, bringing down the curtain on an eleven year stint at the Serie A giants, but would not reveal if he was set to join Spurs and instead hinted that he could return to work quickly.

Andrea Pirlo, Lucio, Adrien Rabiot, Sami Khedira and Aaron Ramsey are among some of the players he recruited in Turin without spending a single penny (Daily Mail).

The Evening Standard reported earlier that Conte is likely to be mulling over Tottenham’s proposal with talks set to continue over the weekend.

The 51-year-old is understood to want assurances on the club’s transfer budget, transfer plans and the future of Harry Kane (Independent).
