Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs are monitoring 21-goal striker’s situation after recent development

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will be monitoring the situation of Dusan Vlahovic.

Fiorentina owner president Rocco Commisso released an official statement on the club’s official website yesterday revealing that the striker had been made a number of offers over a new deal which would have made him the club’s highest-paid player of all time, however, has decided against putting pen to paper.

Vlahovic is currently under contract at with the Serie A outfit until June 2023, and was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer with the club reported to have been keen to add the Serbian to their attacking options, rather than as a replacement for Harry Kane (Evening Standard).

The 21-year-old scored 21 goals in 37 appearances in the Italian top flight last season and is also said to have been on the radar of Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.

Romano admitted on the Here We Go podcast that the North Londoners will be keeping tabs on the latest developments involving the front man: “Tottenham (along with many clubs in Europe) will keep an eye on Dusan Vlahovic’s situation.”

Vlahovic would add another dimension to Tottenham’s attack and help to relieve the goalscoring burden on the shoulders of Harry Kane, while also giving Nuno Espirito Santo the option to play two up top.
