Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs could appoint new manager in ‘matter of days’

Fabrizio Romano has claimed on the latest episode of the Here We Go Podcast that Tottenham Hotspur are close to appointing a new manager and could confirm the appointment in a matter of days.

A whole host of names have been linked with the Spurs hot seat since Jose Mourinho’s sacking last month but there appears to be no one candidate who is the overwhelming favourite for the role.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed last week that Tottenham have narrowed down their search to a shortlist and named Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter as two managers who tick all the boxes.

Romano has now claimed that the North Londoners are currently in talks with three different managers.

While the journalist did not reveal who the three are, he confidently asserted that it will not be long before the club settle on their number one choice.

Romano also added that Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham could depend on the club’s managerial appointment, with Daniel Levy hopeful of convincing the star striker to stick around for a new project.

He explained that Spurs hope that the new manager could also do his part in convincing the England captain to stay put.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is difficult to see how Spurs could confirm a new manager in a matter of days when media outlets still seem unclear on who the club’s main targets are. Either Tottenham have done a great job of keeping their talks under wraps or Romano’s sources are wide off the mark.
