Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs have monitored right-back on ‘countless occasions’

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur may be interested in a move for Torino right-back Wilfried Singo when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

After establishing himself as a regular in Torino’s starting lineup last season, Singo has hit even greater heights this campaign.

The marauding right-back, who can also play further forward, has scored three goals and provided four assists in the Serie A so far this campaign (Transfermarkt).

Tuttosport reported back in November that Antonio Conte wanted to bring the 21-year-old to Spurs but the Lilywhites did not move for the right-back during the January transfer window.

If Romano’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham could reignite their interest in Signo in the summer.

The journalist has told CBS Sports that the Lilywhites have sent scouts to watch the Torino star in action on ‘countless occasions’ this season.

However, Romano reveals that Spurs face competition for Singo from their North London rivals Arsenal, who are also said to be keen on the right-back.

A right wing-back needs to be a priority for Spurs in the summer as Emerson Royal simply does not offer enough going forward. I would not be surprised if Singo is at the top of Paratici’s and Conte’s wishlist, given their expertise in Italian football as well as the Torino star’s age.
