Fabrizio Romano claims Tottenham have held conversations with Kompany

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur made contact with Vincent Kompany and had a conversation with him about the vacant head coach role in N17.

The journalist claims there is a five-man list at Tottenham in the hunt for a new head coach, but the process remains open and Daniel Levy will be the one making the final decision.

This comes after managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, parted ways with the club earlier this week after his worldwide suspension appeal was turned down (Tottenham).

It was reported that Levy was particularly keen on hiring Kompany (Daily Mail), while The Sun named him as Tottenham’s number one target to replace Antonio Conte.

However, other reports have indicated that Kompany will reject any offers this summer in order to lead Burnley into the Premier League (Football Insider).

Spurs Web Opinion:

It has got to the point where I would be disappointed if Tottenham did not get Pochettino or Nagelsmann. However, Kompany would be an exciting choice for different reasons if they gave him time to build something over a number of years.
