Fabrizio Romano clarifies what has to change for Man United to push ahead with Kane move

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that while Manchester United remain admirers of Harry Kane, the Red Devils are aware that Tottenham have no interest in entering into negotiations over the sale of their talisman.

Over the last couple of days, multiple reports have indicated that the former Premier League champions are hesitant about making a summer move for Kane.

ESPN claimed on Monday that while the club rate the England captain highly, they do not want to get into protracted negotiations with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that runs until the final few days of the transfer window.

Romano has revealed on his YouTube Channel that Erik Ten Hag while does like Kane, United are aware that Spurs’ stance at the moment is that they will not entertain any offers for the 29-year-old.

He explained that unless the North London club inform United that they are open to talks for the striker, there will not be any movement on the matter.

Romano also added that no matter what happens with Antonio Conte’s future and his potential successor, Spurs are still determined to extend Kane’s contract with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2024.

The Lilywhites are said to want the centre-forward to sign a long-term deal and be the face of the club’s project moving forward.

I believe that Kane’s future could well be dictated by whether or not we manager to finish in the top four.

If we fail to qualify for the Champions League, I cannot see the 28-year-old wanting to put pen to paper on a new contract, in which case Tottenham might be tempted to cash in on him and rebuild the squad.
