Fabrizio Romano confirms how much Spurs’ option-to-buy Danjuma will cost

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham have the option to make Arnaut Danjuma’s loan move from Villarreal permanent.

It first emerged on Tuesday evening that Spurs had hijacked Everton’s efforts to sign Danjuma (The Athletic) and it did not take long for the North London club to confirm the transfer, with the Lilywhites announcing yesterday that the 25-year-old had joined on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season.

In his first interview with the club channel, the forward admitted that the decision was a ‘no-brainer’ when he heard of Tottenham’s interest and expressed his excitement at the chance to work under Antonio Conte.

The Times had revealed on Tuesday that Villarreal were looking for a loan fee of £2.5m for Danjuma with a permanent option worth £27m, which was presumed to be the amount that Spurs had agreed.

That has now been confirmed by Romano, who took to social media to reveal that Tottenham have the option to sign the Netherlands international permanently for €30m (£26.4m).

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not see Danjuma getting more than a few starts over the coming months and I expect Conte to use the Dutchman primarily as an impact substitute. So, the 25-year-old will have to play out of his skin if he is to convince the North London club to take the option to sign him permanently.
