Fabrizio Romano confirms rumoured Spurs target will be free agent in a few days

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Sevilla are going to terminate the contract of rumoured Tottenham target Isco over the coming days.

Isco joined Sevilla in the summer on a free transfer after his contract at Real Madrid ran out but the attacking midfielder’s time at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium has not gone according to plan.

The 30-year-old has not found the back of the net in 12 La Liga appearances this season (Transfermarkt) and his time at the club now looks set to be cut short.

Marca reported last week that Isco was set to depart Sevilla in January after a confrontation with the club’s director of football Monchi. It was alleged that the Spanish club made up their minds to move the midfielder on in January as they do not intend to tolerate ‘any lack of discipline or respect’.

The Sun subsequently claimed a few days later that Tottenham and Arsenal are both on ‘red alert’ regarding Isco’s situation after the two North London clubs explored moves for the Spain international back in the summer.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the former Real Madrid star is set to be available on a free transfer as Sevilla are now working to terminate his contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

There have not been too many concrete reports to indicate that Tottenham are genuinely interested in Isco. The 30-year-old does not striker me as a Conte kind of player, given his shortcomings off the ball and his lack of tactical discipline. So, despite Spurs needing a number eight, I would be surprised if we made a move for Isco.
