Fabrizio Romano confirms Spurs are leading the race for exciting 18-year-old starlet

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham will not have things easy in their pursuit of West Ham starlet Dan Rigge, with various other clubs also said to be plotting a move for the player.

Rigge has been a revelation for West Ham’s Under-18 side this season, with the attacking midfielder scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 19 games in the Under-18 Premier League so far (Transfermarkt).

It was reported by ESPN on Friday that a number of Premier League clubs, including Spurs, had expressed an interest in the 18-year-old ahead of the summer.

The outlet claimed that while Arsenal and Man Utd were also keen on the player, it was Tottenham who were at the front of the queue to secure his signature.

Tottenham are leading the race for Dan Rigge

This has now been backed up by Romano, who took to social media to state that while Spurs are leading the race for Rigge, they have plenty of competition to contend with.

In fact, the journalist asserted that several clubs are expected to test the water for the teenager over the next few weeks.
