Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham one of three teams to approach Inter Milan star

Fabrizio Romano has revealed Ivan Perisic has been approached by three clubs, including Tottenham, about a transfer but will meet with Inter Milan chiefs next week to discuss his future.

Perisic, 33, is approaching the end of his current deal with Inter and is currently looking set to depart San Siro as a free agent (Transfermarkt).

The Serie A side are thought to be keen on keeping the Croatia international but are struggling to match his reported £100,000-a-week wage demands, which has opened the door for suitors Spurs (ESPN).

ESPN also claim that Tottenham are battling Juventus to land Perisic’s signature, with Antonio Conte keen on being reunited with him in North London to add more experience to his squad.

And now Italian journalist Romano confirms Perisic has been contacted by Spurs and two other clubs about a potential switch when the transfer window opens at the end of the season.

However, while there has been no decision made as of yet, the wide man is expected to hold talks with Inter next week to clarify his position at the club.

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi said ahead of their season finale against Sampdoria: “I want Ivan Perisić to stay here. There will be a new meeting with his agents and I hope an agreement will be reached soon.”

Perisic, who can play as a winger and a wing-back, joined Inter in 2015 and has gone on to make over 250 appearances (Transfermarkt).

He enjoyed a strong spell at the club under current Tottenham boss Conte where they celebrated winning last season’s Serie A title.

Despite his age, Perisic does not seem to be slowing down and he has continued to be an excellent option as a wing-back for Inter.

Even though Ryan Sessegnon has stepped up in recent weeks, Spurs do have some issues at left wing-back with Sergio Reguilon’s struggles, so there could be a place for someone like Perisic to come in.
