Multiple sources are now reporting that as things stand, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s proposed move to Atletico Madrid does not look likely to go through.
Over the last 24 hours, several outlets have reported that Tottenham are looking to offload Hojbjerg so that they can push ahead with a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher (Guardian).
A couple of hours ago, Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto revealed that Spurs are waiting on a late loan offer for the Dane to arrive from Atletico. He explained that the offer was expected to include an option to buy, which could become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

However, Fabrizio Romano and Jason Burt have now both taken to social media to state that things do not look promising for Atletico in their pursuit of the Tottenham man.
Romano revealed that the conditions proposed in the Colchoneros’ latest offer are not enough to satisfy Spurs.

Meanwhile, Burt has claimed that the problem is on the player’s end, asserting that the former Southampton man could turn down a loan move to the Metropolitano Stadium.

If it is a matter of Atletico’s offer not satisfying Spurs, there is hope that a deal can be struck before deadline day. However, if the player himself is unwilling to green-light the transfer, that would make the deal impossible, thus ending Tottenham’s hopes of signing Gallagher.
