Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could sign Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee as low as €45m (£38.7m).
We recently relayed a report from 90 min, which suggested that Spurs were now making progress in their talks with Leverkusen regarding a deal for Tapsoba.
The publication suggested that the 24-year-old, who has emerged as one of the most promising centre-backs in the Bundesliga over the last couple of years, is keen on making a switch to the North London club.
However, it was explained that the Lilywhites are wary of the fact that they are not the only ones who have their eyes on Tapsoba, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United also allegedly monitoring the defender’s situation.
Tapsoba could cost Tottenham around £40m
Romano has now revealed on AMP (23/06/23) that the Tottenham scouts have followed the Burkina Faso international closely for a while and suggested that they are of the belief that he is perfect for the Premier League.
The journalist added that Spurs could potentially wrap up a deal for Taposoba for a fee of €45m-€50m (£38.7m-£43m).

With Spurs seemingly saving some money by snapping up Guglielmo Vicario rather than David Raya, one would hope that the North London club would have a little more leeway when it comes to negotiating the transfer fees for Taposoba and James Maddison.
