Fabrizio Romano explains what sources have told him about Arne Slot and Spurs

Fabrizio Romano has said on his YouTube channel (starting at 1:44) that some sources have now told him Arne Slot has emerged as ‘the big favourite’ for the Tottenham job.

The speculation linking Arne Slot with a move to Tottenham has been intensifying steadily over the last week and over the last 24 hours, multiple outlets have talked up the Dutchman’s chances of replacing Antonio Conte.

The Daily Mail reported on Monday morning that the 44-year-old will meet with the Feyenoord hierarchy on Wednesday to express his intention to leave, with Tottenham expected to make a formal approach for him later this week.

Romano has now reported something similar, revealing that the Dutch coach will have ‘direct conversations’ with the Feyenoord hierarchy to ‘understand potential conditions and potential compensation’ for him to leave De Kuip.

The journalist states that Slot is ‘really appreciated’ by Spurs and he now has a ‘concrete chance’ of getting the Tottenham job.

Romano adds that the Eredivisie title-winning manager has now emerged as ‘the frontrunner’ for the hot seat at N17.

Finally, the Italian also explains that while Luis Enrique, Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim are also on Tottenham’s wishlist, sources close to those three managers now believe that Slot is the ‘big favourite’ for the job.

Spurs Web Opinion

The more deeply I look into Slot’s work and read about what various players have said about his tactical methods and his man-management, the more I am convinced that he would be the best option for Tottenham.

However, there is no getting away from the fact that he might have a steep learning curve in the Premier League if he does get the job.
