Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to reveal that all parties involved in the Pedro Porro to Tottenham talks believe the deal could be done in the next 24-48 hours.

The journalist added that a new round of talks is scheduled for Thursday in order to seal the deal, but everything is now ‘really close’ as we approach the ‘key stages’. Payment terms are said to be the final thing to discuss.

David Ornstein has also reported that Sporting Lisbon have reached out to Brighton about signing a potential Porro replacement in the form of Tariq Lamptey on loan.

O Jogo report that Spurs will not trigger Porro’s release clause, but they will still pay the same €45m (£39.6m) value. This gives them more wiggle room over payment terms, rather than having to pay the full release clause upfront

Spurs Web Opinion:

It’s set to be a long 24-48 hours for any true fan of Tottenham. This club is certainly the expert on clutching defeat from the jaws of victory, but fingers crossed Levy and co can get this one across the line ASAP!
