Fabrizio Romano gives breakdown of add-ons Spurs agreed for Udogie

Fabrizio Romano has given a detailed breakdown of the transfer fee and potential add-ons that Tottenham have agreed for Destiny Udogie.

Udogie was the last of the seven new signings to arrive through the door at Spurs this summer, with the North London club loaning him back to Udinese for the season.

The left wing-back, who impressed after breaking into Andrea Sottil’s starting eleven last season, has carried on from where he left off, having scored twice in four Serie A appearances so far this campaign (Transfermarkt).

Football.London previously reported that the fee that Spurs agreed for the teenager could rise to £18m including add-ons.

Romano has now explained that Spurs will pay an initial €18m (£15.5m) to Udinese for Udogie, with €2m (£1.7m) in easy add-ons and another €5m (£4.3m) in ‘difficult’ add-ons.

That means that the total fee for the Italy Under-21 international could end up rising to €25m (£21.5m ).

Romano added that Spurs were conscious that the left wing-back would attract a lot more interest next summer and were thus keen on securing a ‘bargain’ this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

The Udogie deal looks better and better with each game that the 19-year-old plays for Udinese. His market value could double in 12 months if he has another good season at the Dacia Arena. It now only seems a matter of time before the youngster breaks into Italy’s senior side.
