Fabrizio Romano gives ‘here we go’ seal of approval on next Tottenham signing

Fabrizio Romano has revealed Tottenham are set to sign Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona.

The transfer guru explains the 27-year-old defender has agreed personal terms after accepting the move to North London last week.

Spurs are still said to be ironing out the final details behind the move, while it is also noted that an option to buy clause has not been included as of now.

The club’s move for Lenglet comes after he endured a difficult recent campaign with Barcelona where he managed just seven starts in LaLiga (Transfermarkt).

The France international, who is capable of playing in central defence and as a left-back, is likely to provide cover for the likes of last season’s mainstays Eric Dier and Ben Davies.

Lenglet’s imminent arrival will serve as the fifth summer signing for Antonio Conte after the earlier captures of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.

This will be good news for Conte given he wanted one or two more signings this week before their preseason games get underway. It is a decent addition as he provides some extra depth which is always handy.

Hopefully, this won’t be the end of Tottenham’s business though, as they still have a few more areas of the squad that need addressing.
