Fabrizio Romano has been told Spurs scouts ‘appreciate’ 21-year-old target

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Gent’s prolific young centre-forward Gift Orban.

With reports continuing to talk up the chances of Harry Kane completing a switch to Bayern Munich (Bild), Spurs have been linked with a whole host of strikers over recent weeks.

Over the last few days, it appears that Tottenham have turned their attention to young, up-and-coming number nines, with some reports even suggesting that the Lilywhites have wrapped up a deal for Rosoria Central starlet Alejo Veliz (Fabrizio Romano).

Gift Orban is also on Tottneham’s radar

It has now emerged that Spurs also have their eye on another highly-rated young forward in Orban, who found the back of the net 20 times in 22 appearances in the second half of last season following his switch to Gent in January (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham’s interest in the Nigerian first came to light a couple of days ago when Nieuwsblad reported that the Premier League side have reached out to the striker’s entourage.

Romano has now also reported on Spurs’ interest in the 21-year-old, revealing that the North London club’s scouts have been impressed by the player.

The Italian has said on Amp: “From what I’m hearing, people in the club [THFC] are considering many names. The scouting team appreciates Gift Orban.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Orban’s numbers over the last two years are simply outstanding and if his career keeps moving in the same upward trajectory, it will be long before he is playing at the highest level.

Although the 21-year-old might be a readymade replacement for Kane, it might be shrewd business to sign the centre-forward and loan him back out to Gent.
