Fabrizio Romano issues January transfer update on Tanguy Ndombele

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham are planning to sell or loan out Tanguy Ndombele this month.

Ndombele, 25, has failed to impress under the tutelage of Antonio Conte and has rarely featured since the Italian’s arrival in November.

He was handed a rare start in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Morecambe in the FA Cup third round, but was hauled off partway through the second half with Spurs trailing the League One outfit 1-0.

Ndombele’s performance during the encounter flattered to deceive, while the substitution was met with a chorus of boos due to his lack of urgency leaving the field before he headed straight down the tunnel.

The response looks set to have plunged his future in North London into doubt, having already looked to find an exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer.

But Romano has now revealed that Spurs are ‘looking for a solution’ regarding Ndombele’s future at the club and are now planning to offload him this month.

He revealed that Spurs intend to sell or loan out Ndombele and would be open to discussing a swap deal in any potential negotiations.

Spurs Web Opinion

Ndombele looks to be heading towards the exit at Spurs and it has been that way for a while now. The Morecambe performance and response really cemented that which is a shame considering his talent, but he isn’t realising that. Spurs now need to cut their losses, but it will be hard to find someone willing to take on his wages.
