Fabrizio Romano issues update on Spurs target Brendan Rodgers

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Leicester City are planning for next season together with Brendan Rodgers despite the speculation linking the former Liverpool boss with Tottenham.

Rodgers has ruled himself out of running for the Spurs job but previous reports indicated that the North Londoners have still not given up hope of landing him.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that despite the complications surrounding swooping for the Foxes boss, he is one of two candidates who ticks all the boxes that Tottenham are looking for.

Some sources have suggested that Daniel Levy is prepared to make Rodgers the second-highest-paid manager in the Premier League after Pep Guardiola if he takes the Tottenham job.

The 48-year-old led Leicester to a FA Cup trophy on Saturday, which was his first piece of silverware since arriving at the King Power Stadium.

The club also look on course to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in his reign.

Romano has now stated that Leicester do not expect Rogers to leave this summer.
