Fabrizio Romano makes confident Kane prediction amidst Conte rumours

In an interview on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube Channel, Fabrizio Romano has backed Tottenham to keep hold of Harry Kane if they manage to bring in Antonio Conte.

Conte is now looking likely to be Jose Mourinho’s successor at Spurs but it remains to be seen whether the Italian will get to work with Harry Kane, with Manchester City being backed to make a big effort to sign the England captain this summer.

Some reports have indicated that Levy is ready to promise Conte that Kane will stay unless the Italian would prefer to cash in on the striker and reinvest the money into the squad.

However, Romano is confident that the former Inter Milan boss will want Tottenham to hold on to Kane if he is to arrive.

The journalist insisted that Kane would be a perfect fit for Conte’s system and the 51-year-old is thus likely to seek assurances about the striker’s future.

He added that Conte will not be satisfied with Levy’s promises and would want to speak to Kane personally to convince him about his vision for the club.

Given how particular Conte is about his demands, I cannot see the Italian agreeing to take over unless Levy guarantees him that the club will hold on to Kane. Appointing the 51-year-old might also be enough to convince Kane that Spurs do have ambitions of competing for the biggest trophies.
