Fabrizio Romano names 28-year-old Spurs defender who could be set to leave

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer business could be set to continue with Fabrizio Romano claiming on his Twitch channel that Ben Davies could be one of the next players to head out of the exit door.

Davies found himself having some fresh competition for the left-back berth last season following the arrival of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.

The Welsh international was a particular favourite of Jose Mourinho with the former Spurs head coach having praised his efforts on more than one occasion last season (Express / Football.London).

The 28-year-old is under contract in North London until the summer of 2024 and has previously been linked with a move to Napoli in a £13.7million deal (Napoli Magazine).

The return of Ryan Sessegnon following his loan spell in Germany could potentially see the former Fulham man be Nuno’s option on the left side of defence along with Reguilon, especially if he decides to play with wing-backs.

Davies is more of a careful player who focuses more on the defensive side of his game and lacks the pace to bomb down the left wing to link up in attacking situations.
