Fabrizio Romano offers update on Dele’s future at Spurs

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are potentially looking to cash-in on Dele Alli and have offered the midfielder to multiple clubs over the past few days.

After being withdrawn at half-time during Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to Everton last week, Dele was been left out of the squad for the team’s subsequent wins over Lokomotiv Plovdiv as well as Southampton.

It was initially reported that Dele could join Real Madrid as part of the deal to bring Gareth Bale back to Spurs (Telegraph) but that did not prove to be the case.

The Daily Mail reported last week that Spurs were ready to part ways with the 24-year-old and that Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan both monitoring the situation closely.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Real Madrid turned down the chance to sign the England international on loan, with the Lilywhites subsequently offering him to many other clubs over recent days following Gareth Bale’s arrival.

The fact that Dele failed to make the 18 man squad against Plovdiv as well as Southampton, does suggest that all is not well between him and Mourinho. However, I am hoping that this proves to be the kick up the backside that Alli needs to get back playing at his best. It could prove to be a costly mistake to sell the 24-year-old as he can potentially thrive in the right system.
