Fabrizio Romano has claimed on social media that Christian Eriksen is not expected to leave Inter Milan before the transfer window slams shut tonight.
Eriksen has endured a difficult twelve months since joining Inter and the Dane has been heavy linked with a potential return to Spurs this month.
It was reported last week that Eriksen was Tottenham’s number one target to replace Dele Alli, who was linked with a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain.
It was suggested that Tottenham will only let Dele join PSG if they can complete a loan deal to bring Eriksen back to North London before the closure of the window.
Romano has now also confirmed that Spurs wanted to re-sign the 28-year-old as Dele’s replacement and revealed that Leicester City were also in contact with the former Tottenham man’s agent this month over a potential move to the King Power Stadium.
However, the journalist insisted that the Denmark international is not going to depart the Serie A giants before the end of the season.

I never understood why we would need a replacement for Dele given how little football he has played so far this season. I would not be surprised if the club’s and Mourinho’s stance on Dele’s transfer changed on the back of Kane’s injury and our poor run of form over recent weeks.
