Despite intense speculation linking Ivan Toney with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, Fabrizio Romano has revealed the Lilywhites still haven’t decided who their top target will be in their hunt for a new striker.

When Spurs decided not to sign a replacement for Harry Kane last summer, it was down to Richarlison and Heung-min Son to provide goals for the team.
They did a decent job, too, but it has still been abundantly clear that Tottenham need more firepower in the forward area.
Ivan Toney has made no secret about his desire to leave Brentford this summer, and Spurs have long been mooted as a potential suitor for the 28-year-old (JD Football).
With Toney’s price tag reportedly dropping recently, it is thought Spurs are even more keen to make an approach for the striker (TEAMtalk).
However, a report from 90Min recently claimed Toney might stay put for another year before moving on a free transfer next summer.

Toney isn’t Tottenham’s top target… yet
The latest from Caught Offside suggests Toney may well be on Tottenham’s radar this summer, but the club has not yet decided whether the Brentford man is their number-one option.
Fabrizio Romano said: “Although it’s expected that Tottenham will sign a striker this summer, there’s no concrete update yet on Ivan Toney, despite reports. He might be one of the strikers being considered at Spurs but no final decision on their top target has been made yet.
“Tottenham’s priority was to decide what to do with Timo Werner, and now they will move into next targets.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I’m really torn on Ivan Toney. He’s a proven goalscorer, we know this, and it sounds like he’s getting cheaper by the week. However, it’s unclear whether he’s got the right attitude for our club.
