Fabrizio Romano provides Nagelsmann update amid Chelsea and Spurs links

In what comes as a potential blow to Spurs, Fabrizio Romano has revealed on his YouTube channel that Chelsea have contacted Julian Nagelsmann and that the German is considering taking the job.

Nagelsmann, who is thought to be Tottenham’s top target (Football Insider), has emerged as one of the leading contenders for the Chelsea job following Graham Potter’s departure.

Romano has now revealed that the German is ‘really appreciated’ by Chelsea technical director, Christopher Vivell, and several members of the club’s board.

He adds that Nagelsmann is the club’s ‘main candidate’ and that they want to appoint him immediately rather than waiting until the end of the season.

Romano asserts that Nagelsman is ‘already considering the option’ and asked some of the people close to him about the club and the project at Stamford Bridge.

Finally, the journalist suggests that two of Spurs’ other managerial targets, Luis Enrique and Ruben Amorin (Athletic), are also on Chelsea’s wishlist but the club are not thought to have contacted Mauricio Pochettino yet.

Spurs Web Opinion

While it would be understandable if Nagelsmann opts to join Real Madrid, I would be pretty disappointed if we lose out to Chelsea in the race for the German, given the situation the Blues find themselves in at the moment.

It looks like the current turmoil at Spurs following the Paratici development, could handicap our move for Nagelsmann and give Chelsea a huge advantage.
