Fabrizio Romano provides potential boost to Spurs’ chances of signing 27-year-old

Fabrizio Romano‘s latest update comes as a boost to Tottenham’s chances of snapping up David Raya, with the journalist revealing that Brentford have now already signed a replacement for the Spaniard.

The speculation linking David Raya with a move to Spurs has intensified over the last few days, with Football Insider reporting over the weekend that Tottenham‘s recruitment team had identified the Bees star as the man to take over the gloves from Hugo Lloris this summer.

The publication added that the Lilywhites are even prepared to triple the salary that he currently earns at the Brentford Community Stadium in order to convince the goalkeeper to make the switch to N17.

This was followed by an update by journalist Rudy Galletti, who told GiveMeSport a couple of days ago that as things stand, Spurs are the front-runners to snap up the 27-year-old goalkeeper.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Brentford have already agreed on a deal to sign Mark Flekken from Freiburg as a replacement for Raya.

The journalist stated that the Dutch goalkeeper has already completed his medical ahead of the move and that Thomas Frank’s men are expected to announce the signing soon.

Spurs Web Opinion

It has been an open secret for a while that Raya is on his way out of Brentford and this move by the Bees basically confirms that it is indeed the case.

However, I am far from confident that the Spaniard is on his way to Tottenham as I expect both Chelsea and Man Utd to contest for his signature this summer.
