Fabrizio Romano provides Spurs and Arsenal update on Gabriel Jesus transfer

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal are in advanced negotiations to sign Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, who is also wanted by Tottenham.

Over the last couple of weeks, it has emerged that Spurs and Arsenal have their eyes on several of the same forwards.

According to The Daily Mail, both clubs have expressed interest in snapping up Richarlison from Everton this summer.

The Athletic have revealed two clubs are also said to be on the trail of Raphinha although the Leeds winger allegedly prefers a move to Barcelona or Chelsea ahead of the North London clubs.

Jesus is another player that Mikel Arteta’s men and Antonio Conte’s men are said to be battling for, with The Daily Mirror claiming on Sunday that Spurs are looking to steal the City star from under the Gunners’ noses.

However, Romano has now revealed that negotiations to take the Brazilian to the Emirates are now at a ‘very advanced stage’.

He did add, however, that Arsenal need to complete the deal quickly, with Spurs and Paris Saint-Germain still in the background for Jesus.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect this transfer merry-go-round will end with Arsenal snapping up Jesus, Raphinha joining either Chelsea or Barcelona and Spurs winning the race for Richarlison. It looks like all three players are likely to fetch £50 plus transfer fees this summer.
