Fabrizio Romano provides update on Adama Traore amidst fresh Spurs links

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the future of rumoured Tottenham target Adama Traore will be decided soon.

Traore was reportedly Antonio Conte’s first-choice option for the right wing-back role in January but the pacy wide-man turned down the North Londoners’ approach in favour of a loan move to Barcelona (The Athletic).

The Catalan giants have the option to snap up the 26-year-old permanently for £29m in the summer (Sky Sports) but it has been suggested that they have no intention of doing so (Sport).

90 min claimed last month that irrespective of whether Barca take up the option to sign Traore, the player is likely to leave Wolves in the summer while CalcioMercato reported just a few weeks ago that the Spaniard ‘likes’ the idea of joining Spurs.

Romano has now taken to social media to confirm that Barca will not be signing Traore and that the winger, who has 12 months left to run on his contract at the Molineux Stadium, will make a decision on his future shortly.

Spurs might have gone after Traore in January due to the lack of options available at the time. With the likes of Djed Spence and Wilfried Singo potentially being on the market this summer, it remains to be seen if the North London club will go back in for the Spaniard.
