Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a meeting between Gareth Bale and his agent has already been scheduled to discuss the Welshman’s future.
The 31-year-old ended his season long loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur yesterday having netted a brace as a substitute in their 4-2 win at Leicester City which secured a seventh-place finish which secured Europa Conference League qualification and the North London bragging rights over rivals Arsenal.
Romano claimed that a decision on where Bale will play his future next season could be decided once both Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid clarify their respective managerial situations.
Tottenham are still on the search for a new head coach following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho last month.
The left-footer has just over a year to run on his contract in the Spanish capital with Romano suggesting that the La Liga giants are keen to offload players ahead of next season.
Alasdair Gold has previously claimed that he is led to believe that Tottenham do have the first option to re-sign Bale on loan for next season.
Bale made 34 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists (transfermarkt).
Romano took to Twitter to post the following:
Gareth Bale’s future will be decided in the next weeks, meeting already scheduled with his agent Jonathan Barnett. 🏴 #THFC
The final decision will be made once Real Madrid and Tottenham will clarify their manager situations. Real are looking to sell many players this summer.
