Fabrizio Romano provides update on Harry Kane new contract rumours

Fabrizio Romano has reported that things are ‘completely quiet’ on the new Harry Kane contract front, with no negotiations currently open with Tottenham Hotspur (CaughtOffside).

Of course, it would be near impossible to discuss a new contract with Kane while the England captain is on World Cup duty, but it appears no talks took place in the first half of this season either.

Romano also confirmed that Bayern Munich are fans of the Spurs striker but nothing else has happened yet, so it is very much a case of wait-and-see in terms of Kane’s future.

Football Insider recently reported that Harry Kane and his team will closely monitor Tottenham’s talks with Antonio Conte over a new deal, which could influence the striker’s decision over his own.

Ben Jacobs also claimed that Spurs believe Kane is open to talking about signing a new deal in North London when the time is right.

Romano said: “I’ve seen stories about Kane again, but there are no changes at all as of now.

“Tottenham want to keep Kane and there are no negotiations ongoing, but also nothing would happen during the World Cup of course… so it’s completely quiet as of now.

“Bayern like Kane as Oliver Kahn stated, nothing else.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

It does feel like the order is going to be Conte then Kane. If Antonio signs a two-year extension then I see Kane either following suit or penning a new long-term deal on huge money. Both sets of talks are likely to happen either in January or towards the end of the season.
