Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make a decision regarding Hugo Lloris’ future but are expected to do so at the end of the current season.

Lloris will enter the final 12 months of his contract with Spurs in the summer and it has been reported that the goalkeeper is unlikely to sign a new contract with the North Londoners.

Reports indicate that a return to France is on the cards for the goalkeeper, with Pairs Saint-Germain and his former club Nice both being mooted as potential destinations for the Tottenham man.

Several names have been put forward as possible replacements for the experienced Spurs number one.

However, Romano revealed that it is far from certain that the Tottenham captain will be sold this summer and also added that Wojciech Szczesny is not one of the options Spurs are considering as a replacement despite rumours to the contrary.

I expect Spurs to offer Lloris a contract extension in the summer and I believe the Frenchman will sign it. So, I do not really expect us to spend big on a potential number one this. I can see us bringing in someone like Johnstone to potentially serve as Lloris’ understudy before eventually taking over as number one when the 34-year-old leaves.
