Fabrizio Romano provides update on interest in Tottenham’s Bryan Gil

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Real Sociedad have now made an approach to sign Tottenham winger Bryan Gil.

Gil was an unused substitute in Tottenham’s Premier League season opener against Southampton on Saturday.

AS reported on Monday that Valencia had identified the Spaniard as the man to replace Goncalo Guedes, who is expected to leave the club before the transfer window closes.

The report added that the La Liga club had reached out to Gil’s representatives, as well as Spurs, about potentially bringing the winger back to the Mestalla on loan.

Tribuna Deportiva journalist Hector Gomez subsequently claimed that Gennaro Gattuso’s side are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign the 21-year-old.

Romano has now taken to social media to confirm that Valencia are in talks with Spurs regarding Gil and suggested that negotiations are set to continue in the ‘next hours’.

However, the journalist added that Los Che could also face competition from Real Sociedad, who have now approached Spurs regarding the winger.

One would expect negotiations for the likes of Gil, Reguilon, Lo Celso, Tanganga and Winks to accelerate over the coming week, given that there is not too much time left in the transfer window. The Gil deal should be a fairly straightforward one to agree on since it is likely to be a loan move.
