Fabrizio Romano and The Times have both revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of the contenders for Youri Tielemans, who is expected to leave Leicester City this summer.
Tielemans will have just one year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium at the end of the season (Transfermarkt) and the midfielder admitted last month that he is ready to join a ‘top European club’ (talkSPORT).
GiveMeSport claimed last week that Spurs plan to make a move for the 24-year-old in the summer should they qualify for the Champions League.
Romano has now revealed that Tottenham are one of several clubs after the Belgian international but added the Lilywhites are yet to make a move for the player.
The journalist said on the Here We Go podcast 19/04/22: “Back in January, February, we said Tielemans will leave Leicester. Tielemans is going to leave Leicester at the end of the season, 100%. Many clubs interested, Tottenham included, but still nothing close.
“They are not negotiating with Leicester or Tielemans at the moment. They are exploring, but it is important to know if they are in the Champions League. He is on Tottenham’s radar, but five or six clubs are competing.”
Meanwhile, The Times have also revealed that Antonio Conte’s men are keeping tabs on Tielemans. They claim that the midfielder is also of interest to Arsenal, who held talks with the Belgian’s representatives at the turn of the year.
However, the report adds that Tielemans wants to play Champions League football next season.

Teilemens might not be a signing that gets a lot of Spurs fans excited but the Belgian is a functional midfielder who can fit well into Conte’s system.
The 24-year-old has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt and would be relatively inexpensive due to his contract situation.
The club could be eyeing him as a replacement for Harry Winks, should the England international push for a move this summer.
