Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there are four of five managers on Tottenham’s shortlist to replace Antonio Conte in the summer.
A whole host of managers have been mooted as potential targets for Conte over the last few weeks, including the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi, Marco Silva, Oliver Glasner, Thomas Frank and others (The Athletic).
However, since the news emerged of Julian Nagelsmann’s sacking by Bayern Munich last week, it has been reported that the German has now shot to the top of Tottenham’s wishlist (Football Insider).
The Daily Mail reported on Monday that the Lilywhites have reached out to the 35-year-old and are awaiting a response, with Daniel Levy allegedly keen to weigh up his chances of appointing the recently departed Bayern boss before talking to other managerial candidates.
Romano has now explained that Cristian Stellini will only be in charge until the end of the season and that the North London club will hire a new head coach in the summer.
He remarked that the Tottenham hierarchy have narrowed down their list to four or five choices, with Thomas Tuchel being one of the names on their list before he accepted the Bayern job.

The club will be keen to avoid a scenario similar to 2021 when it took them several months to finalise an appointment.
So, I suspect that Levy will already be reaching out to the names on his shortlist to discuss the vacancy.
The dilemma that Spurs will face is whether to wait until the summer for Nagelsmann, knowing full well that there is a decent chance that the German would reject their approach in favour of a move to Real Madrid.
