Fabrizio Romano reveals 25-year-old Spurs target is ‘super appreciated’ by Paratici

Fabrizio Romano has claimed Adama Traore is ‘super appreciated’ by Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer ahead of a potential reunion with Nuno Espirito Santo, who took over at the North London outfit in the summer.

A move, however, never came to fruition with Wolves’ reported £40 million asking price enough to put Spurs off and Nuno headed out of the exit soon after.

However, reports have re-emerged suggesting that Spurs plan to reignite their interest in Traore this month, with Antonio Conte reportedly shortlisting him as an incoming to operate in the right wing-back role in his side.

Transfer guru Romano has reiterated Spurs’ fondness of Traore, but also revealed that it is club chief Paratici that is a big admirer of the the Spanish wide man.

He also shared that although the club’s main target is a centre-back, Spurs could indeed go for a winger, but a move for Traore won’t be easy.

Speaking on The Here We Go Podcast, Romano said: “Yes, talking about Tottenham, they will go for a centre-back, the priority is a centre-back, but let’s also see if they will also go for a winger.

“We have had a lot of rumours about Adama Traore, he is super appreciated by Fabio Paratici the Tottenham Sporting Director, but it’s not going to be easy.”

It does seem like Spurs are very much interested in Traore and will approach Wolves again in January this time. He has the tools to be a very solid wing-back and Conte can work on the defensive side of his game for that, but it is his acquirement during the season that could be a problem.
