Fabrizio Romano reveals exciting Antoine Semenyo update as Tottenham make ‘aggressive’ push

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly intensified their efforts to land Antoine Semenyo, with the club launching an aggressive pursuit ahead of the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer interest in Antoine Semenyo has persisted months later as we head rapidly towards the winter window.

The Lilywhites remain keen on bringing the Bournemouth man to north London to link up with fellow Ghana star Mohammed Kudus.

However, their pursuit of Semenyo is more complicated than it was back in the summer, with several Premier League rivals now joining the race for the in-form wide forward.

Tottenham launch aggressive Antoine Semenyo pursuit

Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on the pursuit of Semenyo with the winter transfer window less than two weeks from opening.

According to the journalist, Tottenham are believed to have spent a significant amount of time over the last few days attacking the situation regarding the Bournemouth star.

It is understood that the Lilywhites have been really aggressive in their pursuit of the forward recently, but they are not alone.

The situation is reported to be heating up with both Manchester United and Manchester City, who are said to have made contact in the last 48 hours, while Liverpool remains interested.

Romano concludes his report by stating that a move will ultimately depend on what Semenyo wants.

Semenyo’s Liverpool preference complicates transfer plans

Reports in the last few weeks have claimed that Semenyo will prefer a move to Liverpool, a stance which is far from ideal for Spurs.

Tottenham found themselves in a similar situation last summer with Eberechi Eze, who had been closing in on a deal with the club despite being a lifelong Arsenal supporter.

However, that move came crumbling down when Arsenal approached the playmaker, who did not think twice about joining them.

If Semenyo does indeed prefer Liverpool, then it could prove difficult for Spurs if the Reds make a move for the £65m-rated man.
