Fabrizio Romano reveals how Conte and Paratici feel about Destiny Udogie

Fabrizio Romano has revealed on his YouTube channel (at 2:40) that Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte are both ‘in love’ with soon-to-be Tottenham player Destine Udogie.

Udogie hit the limelight with his impressive displays at left wing-back for Udinese last season and the youngster has been backed to make the step up from Italy’s Under-21 side to the senior set-up ahead of the World Cup later this year.

The Evening Standard claimed on Monday that the youngster is expected to join Spurs in a deal worth around £21m before spending the season back on loan at the Udinese.

The report claimed that Conte recommended the 19-year-old to the Spurs hierarchy while Paratici also feels he has ‘big potential’.

Romano has now said on his YouTube channel that both the Tottenham head coach and managing director of football are in love with the youngster.

The journalist added that Conte and Paratici feel the teenager could be a future star for the North London club.

The fact that Udogie’s signing was recommended by Conte is perhaps a big indication that the Italian wants to stick around at Tottenham for a long-term project. Spurs are likely eyeing the teenager as the man to eventually take Perisic’s place when the Croat departs two years down the line.
