Fabrizio Romano reveals key details of Radu Dragusin to Spurs – Final price

Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing their second signing of the January transfer window, with Radu Dragusin on his way to London to complete a medical. Ahead of the confirmation, Fabrizio Romano has all the details of the deal.

What started as a seemingly simple transfer negotiation ultimately became something of a saga by the end, but it seems Spurs have finally got their man, with Radu Dragusin choosing to join the Lilywhites over Bayern Munich.

With both sides having offers accepted by Genoa, it was down to Dragusin to decide his next destination, with the player believed to have been mulling over his options last night (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Florian Plettenberg reported this morning that the Romanian had chosen to join Tottenham, Fabrizio Romano has given the deal the ‘Here we go’ treatment, and Di Marzio claims the player is heading to London for his medical today.

How much have Spurs paid for Dragusin?

Now, in a further tweet, Romano has revealed the all-important finer details of the move, including how much Spurs have paid for their new player and what will happen with Djed Spence, who heads the other way.

Romano tweeted: “Understand these are final details of Radu Dragusin deal between Spurs and Genoa. €25m fixed fee. €5m add-ons, now very easy to reach. Spence on loan with salary paid by Tottenham. Genoa signed Dragusin for bit more than €5m plus add-ons in August… top deal.”

To put that into perspective, Spurs will pay £21.5m upfront, with a further £4.3m in bonuses, though it is unclear at this stage what that additional payment depends upon.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am still in shock that we actually secured this signing, given Bayern’s interest. For roughly £25m, we have got ourselves a young, very strong, and very talented centre-back who will only improve. Now we just have to hope he can settle into the Premier League quickly.
