Fabrizio Romano reveals length of the contract Udogie will sign with Spurs

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Destiny Udogie is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Tottenham before returning to Udinese on loan.

Udogie hit the limelight with his impressive displays in Serie A last season, with the left-wing back notching up eight goal contributions in the Serie A over the course of 2021/22 (Transfermarkt).

The 19-year-old was statistically the second most productive wing-back (in terms of goals and assists) in Italian football after Ivan Perisic last campaign, and it looks like he is set to follow the Croat to Spurs.

The Evening Standard claimed on Monday that the youngster is expected to join the North London club in a deal worth around £21m before spending the season back on loan at Udinese.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Udogie will have his medical within the next few days ahead of sealing his transfer to Spurs.

The journalist revealed that the Italy Under-21 international will sign a contract with Antonio Conte’s men that runs until 2027.

A five-year deal makes perfect sense for Spurs as it potentially gives the north London club the luxury of loaning Udogie for the next two seasons before he potentially replaces Ivan Perisic in the squad when the Croat’s contract runs out in 2024.
