Fabrizio Romano reveals midfielder linked with summer move ‘is happy at Tottenham’

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dismissed the speculation linking Giovani Lo Celso with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, insisting that the midfielder is happy at the North London club.

Lo Celso has been out of action since December with a hamstring injury but the midfielder has recently returned to first-team training.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that the Argentine could be available for selection in a week or two.

However, reports over the past week have suggested that the midfielder could potentially leave Spurs at the end of the season.

It has been claimed that the 24-year-old is attracting interest from several La Liga clubs while Juventus are also said to be keen on landing the Tottenham star.

However, Romano has now revealed that Lo Celso has not spoken to Juve and that the former Real Betis man is fully focused on doing his best for Spurs.

The journalist said on Here We Go Podcast: “Giovani Lo Celso is not negotiating with Juventus, he is focused on Tottenham.

“He’s not looking to leave the club, so there is nothing at the moment.

For Giovani Lo Celso there is total focus on Tottenham obviously he wants to be an important player.

“He’s fighting for his place and it’s normal it’s a part of football, but there is nothing.

“He is happy at Tottenham and the situation is under control and Juventus is not working for it.”

Lo Celso seems to be one of Jose’s favourites and so it is unlikely that his future at Spurs is under any threat. When he ready to return to the team, it will be interesting to see whether Mourinho uses the Argentine as a number ten or in a deeper role like he did last season.
