Fabrizio Romano has now revealed there is some ‘tax stuff’ to be worked out before Tanguy Ndombele completes his loan move to Lyon.
Tottenham shattered their transfer record (Independent) to sign Ndombele from Lyon in 2019 and it was hoped by many that the Frenchman would be the heir to Mousa Dembele in the middle of the park.
However, despite showing several glimpses of his quality, the Frenchman was unable to fulfil his potential during his two and a half years in North London.
According to reports, Antonio Conte has reservations about the 25-year-old’s work ethic and his attitude (The Athletic).
It now looks as though Ndombele is set to return to his former stomping ground, with Lyon in talks with Spurs over re-signing the midfielder on loan.
Romano has now revealed that the Tottenham star is having a medical ahead of sealing his return to the Groupama Stadium.
He added that Spurs are waiting for some paperwork to be completed as there are still some tax issues to be resolved.

If the transfer does go through, it would be a good move for all parties involved. Even if Lyon do not have an option to buy Ndombele, one would expect Spurs to receive offers for the Frenchman in the summer should he do well back in Ligue 1 during the second half of the campaign.
