Fabrizio Romano reveals reported Spurs target has completed move to Serie A

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has now officially signed for Napoli.

Kvaratskhelia hit the limelight due to his impressive performances for Ruben Kazan over the last couple of years but the winger terminated his contract following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and signed a two-year deal with Georgian club Dinamo Batumi (Il Mattino).

The winger’s agent Timur Gurtskaya revealed last year that Spurs showed an interest in his client (Sport Business) and Antonio Conte’s men were backed to reignite their interest in the 21-year-old this summer (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Multiple Italian publications reported earlier this month (Area Napoli and TMW) that Napoli were leading the race for the Georgian international’s signature.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the Serie A club have secured Kvaratskhelia’s services ahead of next season, with the wide-man said to have penned a five-year contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The journalist added that the youngster was on Tottenham’s wishlist last summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Spurs did not seem to push Napoli for Kvaratskhelia suggests that the winger was not really on the club’s radar ahead of the summer. We are well stacked in the wide areas as things stand and I am not sure the Georgian would have been a particularly good fit for Conte’s system.
